I haven’t painted the casing yet, but it sounds very good to my ear already. It’s noisy as you expected from a high gain circuit. I’d like to experiment some other diodes like BAT1 on the trim circuit instead of 1n4148 and see how the gain trimpot will react since the circuit has much gain. I already tried using Bat1 on the gain circuit. It sounds less fuzzy while retaining the gain saturation but you lose some of the volume and bass. But neither, there is too much volume already on the circuit not matching the bypass sound. Overall, I was pleased building this project. Let say it as a parting words, this Thermionic Deluxe likes being paired with TS808. It sounded silky and smooth. With TS9 it is very good also.
