Great mid to high gain tones. Very nice layout. Used a pre drilled bare enclosure from tayda that fits perfectly. Cost of the build was about a third the cost of a be od.

The pedal is exactly what I expected: turns a clean amp into something that really closely approximates a high gain Marshall sound. Instead of trying to find the amp that has the perfect cleans and perfect distortion channel, I just decided to build this pedal and use it with my Peavey Classic 50 410. I couldn’t be happier. I’m not sure how close it is to the original pedal, but it can exactly replicate the drive channel of my first-generation Marshall Valvestate. The PCB itself is great quality and the instructions are straight forward. Like others mentioned, there is a perfectly fitting, pre-drilled Tayda box.

This is such a very good heavy pedal that I have been looking for. Good for 80’s sound. Sustainful. I was right when I chose this over Dirty Sanchez (just my preference). I suggest to those who will build this: I have acquired like almost a dozen of TL072. From experienced, I auditioned this chip and they are not consistent with the quality. One chip will sound different from another. I noticed some TL072 chip do not sound full and sometimes can be bit noisy. So I ended up choosing those ones that were operationally quite, fat and with good sustain. So my suggestion is if you can get a dozen of it, audition it first. I have a bare DIY TS9 circuit that I used in auditioning this chip. After doing it, these Thermionic Distortion is a bomb!

It is an excellent marshal in a box, it responds very well to crunch and high gain tones.

This pedal sounds great and is quieter than my other metal pedals. I used cloth wire throughout not sure if that makes a sonic difference. The trim on the inside will give you huge gain maybe more than you need. I have it dialled back most of the way. This is a very usable pedal. The pcb is well done no issues assembling it. I played a deluxe beod and this clone sounds pretty close in tone and maybe a bit more gain.
