This pedal sounds amazing. It’s a really easy build too. I love that Robin Ford tone!

This is a fantastic build and sounds better than I remember!
I purchased two of these PCBs for a Double Zen with tweaks from the original.
On right side I subbed an OPA2604 and added a High/Low Gain toggle (changes R4 from 1k to 511k). On the left subbed a NE5532 and added a Bass Boost toggle (.47uf in parallel with C3).
Absolute rock and roll!

This is a really good sounding overdrive, with the original Zendrive being one of those highly sought after classics. I can get a wider range of tonality than most overdrives I’ve built to date. I would probably recommend this as a good beginner build as well, since it has few parts which are all easy to source. Good tone regardless of your skill level.

Very simple circuit that simply sounds wonderful. The combination of diodes and the control over the high end with the tone and voice knobs makes for a different sound that your usual screamer and breaker style drives. Lets a good bit more bass through than a screamer, and is noticeably cleaner/clearer in the midrange. Overall a very balanced sound.

awesome and easy circuit! using an opa2134 instead of the stock ic and it sounds awesome! verrry similar in sound to the ultraphonix, but the voice knob def gives this more variation of sounds, the clipping is much more distinctive on the ultraphonix i would say, while the mahayana is a smoother overall clipping.
