Great pedal for low tuning. Nails the “djent” sound.

I like Meshuggah, but the ‘djent’ term and low tuned 8 string guitars are not for me. I was curious about the ’33’ pedal, and noticed that some greedy capitalists are flogging theirs for £666 (obviously an idiot) and up.
This is a great pedal. It tightens up distortion units and works great with my favourite RAT. Regardless of genre, this is a great boost full stop. Tonally a little towards upper mid/treble, giving it huge definition and a nice bit of grit.
Why on earth would you spend over £500 when this pcb plus a box and bits is under £30? It’s a must have unit.

Great sounding boost!! Straight forward, easy build. Recommended!

One thing that is perplexing me. D1 and D2 on the PARTS LIST call for a 1N914 diode. On the actual PCB it says 1N4148 in the space for the diodes. I used the 914 according to the parts list. The pedal sounds like it wants to sound good but becomes overwhelmed with a bassy over saturated sort of break up when I hit a bar chord rather heavy. I’m wondering if this has anything to do with it

It’s doubtful that they are causing a problem, but you can omit D1, D2, and Q2 without any adverse effects.

Thanks for the advice. I may try that. Not sure what else could be causing the problem
