Does everything you’d expect a treble booster to do upstream of some other dirt pedal or a driven amp – creamy richness. But the party trick is when you set the guitar volume to 10 – the pickup inductance, switchable input cap, and low series guitar pot resistance form an LCR filter that (with the transistor) really boosts the mids, so it doubles as a less-is-more solo boost into a cleaner amp. Making the freq selectable via switching the input cap is genius. Uses a ladder bias, so it will work with pretty much any Ge transistor, no magic hfe needed. Built it for a Germanium fix, it hasn’t moved off the pedal board since power up …….
