This is an absolutely beautiful sounding trem circuit with two problems as it’s presented here that are easily fixed: with a B10K pot for volume the control is all but useless, unity gain is like 2/10 and the taper is all screwed up. Same with the rate pot, the whole sweep of the pot is all bunched up at the end with the B100K that’s called for here. The first 75% of the rate knob does almost nothing, then BAM it sweeps through the whole gamut of speed right at the end. Very fiddly and annoying in a live setting.
Swapping the B10K volume pot for an A10K completely fixes the volume problem, and a C100K instead of the B100K for rate fixes the rate problem. A100K (log) makes the rate problem even worse, but C100K (anti-log) fixes it completely.
With those two simple fixes all 4 knobs have lovely, smooth tapers from start to finish. I’d rate this build lower due to those issues, but the circuit sounds so damn good with the right pots, I’d put this up against trem pedals I’ve paid hundreds for. Absolutely killer.

This is the best sounding trem I’ve used and has become a mainstay on my board. It actually improves the guitars tone just by being on, even if the trem settings are mild enough not to be noticed. This is a very smoothly undulating tremolo; even at extreme settings you wont quite get to heavy helicopter chops. It is quite versatile within its limitations though, and I find it easy to dial in the speed/smoothness I need quickly. One note though: There was not enough gain on the volume control, even at maximum volume it got quieter when turned on. On the Forums they mention you need to raise the value of R3 and/or raise the value of the gain pot. I raised R3 to 440K and the gain pot to B25K. Now I get unity gain at about 3 oclock, which is great. Current Draw: 10mA
