It’s the best of both worlds! Don’t underestimate the power of the trim pot! Turn it CCW if you want it voiced like a Dirty Shirley or CW if you want the heavier tighter BE-OD. Highly recommended!

The best distortion pedal I have ever DIY! Easy to install. The EQ and gain range are wide and the trim pot is powerful! I really love its sound! Highly recommended!

Great pedal. Great board layout. Having the mid control helps you dial in great tone. Actually able to get a “brutal” metal sound out of it.

I loved the BE OD but wanted something with more flexibility. I am still kind of disbelief as how to how much I like this pedal. Perfect for hotrodded Marshall tones, but still versatile enough for any situation where you need gain with touch sensitivity, dynamics, and just a touch of sag.

Just finished soldering the board up, Just need to add the pots and jacks.
I have to say this PCB is easy to solder oup, great print out pcb component labels. , Slight scraping from my helping hands on the corners, but my bad, should have added a pad to the alligator clips. Thanks for a good product. Looking forward to the sound- will be back to comment again once shes alive.

I really liked the Thermionic (BE-OD). That was the first amp-like high gain pedal I built. But then I plugged this in.
I plugged in the Thermionic and Brown Betty into an A/B looper to compare them. With the trimpot up and the mids at 0, I was able to tone-match with the Thermionic at various settings.
But then when you turn up that mid you have a whole different tonal palette to work with.
Worth the slightly larger 1590BB on the pedalboard.
