My first ever build, so I went with a pedal sound that I was familiar with. A fairly simple build to complete, and it does exactly what it was designed to do. A great pedal for those who don’t want to be bamboozled with controls. One knob to adjust the gain when the boost is engaged. That’s it. The gain is fixed on the regular channel. There is a fairly hefty bump in volume if you turn this on and you’re using an amp with headroom, but that’s exactly how it’s supposed to behave. Once you turn it on, you’re not going to turn it off, it definitely works best as an always on pedal. Great dynamics, you can just ride your volume control or adjust your picking. If you want to emulate your hero Josh Smith, this is the one you want on your board.
