I bought this because I kind of liked the sound of the video demos, and I love fuzzes of many persuasions. I wasn’t expecting much, though.
Uh, boy, was I pleasantly surprised.
I’m not a circuit scientist, but it sounds way more big muff than two-transistor/fuzz face, so I’m not quite able to say what they did differently. It is just a beautiful, powerful, and unique fuzz. Great focused textures and variety in the tone control, which seems to behave more like a parametric EQ than a standard bass or treble boost/cut. The tone can be reminiscent of Fu Manchu, which makes sense given that creepy fingers is apparently a bassist member (have not yet tested on bass).
Highly recommended, especially for bringing the heavy.
