Terrific pedal! I built one for myself. I liked it so much that I built another one and gave it to my dad for Father’s Day to use with his bass. He’s used it ever since.

This was the first pedal I build without using a kit, and it was a great first choice. Super thick sound, VERY heavy. I haven’t heard the amp its supposed to be based on, so I can’t attest to that. I do get some RF interference if the guitar volume is turned down, but Google tells me this is common for this circuit. If I build another one in the future I’ll add a pre-gain volume pot, seems to be a common addition/mod.

I built this after getting stuck on my initial first build, which was a much more complex circuit. So this is my real first working one. Walk before you can run! Anyway, it’s super fun to plug it straight into an amp and lay down some huge riffs. Also sounds really cool with a light breakup when you dial the guitar volume back.
