Easy build and absolute monster vintage octave fuzz sound. I used D9K germanium diodes and can recommend them.

I have bought and built *a lot* of fuzz circuits. This one surprised me. I think it might be my favorite fuzz, even with octave off. Tried with vfe diodes in the mid-high 30s, but it was a little too ring-modish and much prefer a diode in the mid 20s to low 30s.
