The MOSFET Driver is based on the legendary BK Butler Tube Driver. A pair of adjustable-bias MOSFET gain stages take the place of the 12AX7 vacuum tube, otherwise the circuit is true to the original schematic.

- Volume – Controls the overall output volume

This is one awesome sounding pedal . it does indeed have that Tube Driver sound, i use mine to try and sound like Eric Johnson , this thing nails that EJ lead tone when i run it into my dirty Marshal .

Amazing sounding pedal. Very cool circuit design, so simple and elegant. The MOSFET clipping is very tube-like. On a lower OD setting, as the note decays, the signal cleans up, very touch sensitive. With the drive turned up, it gets more compressed and gnarly. The EQ controls are very unique. The HI control almost acts like a tilt EQ, partially. With HI all the way down it lets more low end through, all the way up and the very crispy highs take over. The LO control is an additional layer of low end control, and they are partially interactive. It’s similar to a BF/SF treble/bass tone stack, but different. I have the Q1 and Q2 bias control somewhere in the middle, and it sounds great. The Q1 bias control is very subtle, the Q2 bias has a lot more noticeable effect on the amount of breakup.

UPDATE:
Plugged in direct from guitar, this pedal sounds great, but after a another “on” pedal, the sound gets thin, and crispy, the low end drops. after an OD, or a phaser, in my case. Too bad, because the sound of the pedal on it’s own is amazing, great range of tones and sensitivity. I don’t know what it is, about the input impedance of this pedal that makes it behave differently after another pedal. Anyone have any solutions? Perhaps swapping out a resistor value?
