Easy build, and easy to source parts. I’ve been building pedals since Quarantine…had time, you know.
Anyway, just started working on creating my pedalboard using mostly pedals I’ve built. today I sat down with every “fuzz” I built, from various sources. of the PPCB builds, I tested out the Triad, Carcass, Dung Beetle, Fuzz Foundry, Mini Muffin, and Two Sticks of Derm. I left out things like Parenthesis, and War Scythe, because I was just looking for fuzz, and nothing else (as well as a small footprint).
I decided that the Death Cap will be what’s on my board. It’s a very customizable fuzz…if you can’t find a setting you don’t like, then you probably aren’t looking for fuzz…

Very badass pedal and very easy to build. Lots of different sounds so it might take a bit to dial one in you like. I found dialing back just a tiny bit on tone and volume knobs tamed it nicely. My favorite part is the low end knob, it gets some huge sounds at about 80% of max. not as “sexy” as a germanium fuzz, but you can get a lot for a little here.
