Great Overdrive / Distortion pedal once you get it dialed in. I must say though, it requires some serious tinkering to nail down the sounds you really want to play. The push knob can quickly get you into a hard driven territory you may or may not like (I didn’t), but I was able to balance it out and find several tones I do like for sure. It will do a heavy rock lead sound like nobody’s business!

Super quick follow up to this build, I forgot to add this to my review…. you MUST BIAS this pedal properly with the trimmer POTS.. It’s easy, but can be intimidating if you’ve never done it before. The forums are a GREAT resource to help with this, but a “quick and dirty” run down, is attach ground leg of your DMM to a common ground in the pedal (I either use Negative of battery input, or the negative lead of the input / output jacks) and then attach the positive lead of your DMM to the Drain leg of the JFET. Set your DMM to read DC voltage, and bias (turn the trimmer pot corresponding to the JFET you are BIASING with a screw driver) until the voltage on your DMM reads 4.5v. Then move to the next one, do the EXACT same thing, rinse repeat for all JFETS.. THIS IS A STARTING POINT… You can BIAS it higher, lower, etc.. But test the sounds you get and twist the knobs and listen to your pedal. What matters is what BIAS voltage SOUNDS BEST TO YOU, not what a book says necessarily. The “book” or “standard” is a reference point, but the sounds you like might be hotter, or weaker.. YMMV.

Pedal covers so much ground. The mid preamps really let’s you dial in any guitar and amp. I used smd j201 with a conversation PCB. Definitely worth the afternoon.
